Auction! Editions
Auction!
V3 is available in
Network, Multi-user, Single
user, Small Event and Starter editions. It's designed to be flexible
and affordable for events ranging from very small to very large.
Licensing is specific to the
non-profit organization; it is not licensed to individuals.
For multi-site organizations, Auction! is licensed to specific sites
or teams, and may
not be shared with similar teams in other communities.

Single user
edition includes one copy of the software
and one copy of the manual. The software is to be installed and run on only one computer
at a time. The project may have as many names and
items as desired. Clients are welcome to backup and move data to a
different computer as needed.
Multi-user
edition has an additional feature,
Merging Projects, which allows independent users to merge their work.
It is not a networked application, although a network may be used for merging.
The multiple user license includes the software, one
copy of the manual, and allows
usage by two or more as necessary within the licensed organization.
Network edition supports
simultaneous access to a project dataset by two or more users. The
network license includes one copy of the manual, and allows usage as
necessary within the licensed organization. The network
edition also incorporates merge, for off-line, non-networked sharing of data, such as when team members are working at home.
Small
Event edition has identical capabilities to Single
user, with a 100 item, 300 name limit.
Starter edition is a trimmed-down variation of Single
User; see the Product Comparison page for more details.
Small Event & Starter editions are great ways to get familiar
with Auction! with a minimal investment.
Single User, Small Event & Starter editions:

Projects can be moved to another computer
as often as desired; merge and networking are not supported.

Single User edition has all standard V3
features, and allows up to 9,999 bidders & 9,999 items.

Small Event edition has all standard V3
features, and allows up to 300 names and 100 items per project.

Starter edition allows 9,999 bidders and
items, and does not enable the most sophisticated V3 features.

Multi-user edition:

Multi-user is not networked, and does not
require any special hardware configuration.

Multi-user team members can merge, or
join their work together as often as they like, and continue working
independently, whether across a conference room or across town at home.

Merging is quick, typically about 30-60
seconds total.

The license does not limit the number of
users; practical considerations (team communication & data entry
consideration) suggest keeping data entry to no more than three people
pre-event.

Multi-user edition has all standard V3
features, and allows up to 9,999 bidders & 9,999 items.

Network edition:

Network edition may be used stand-alone
when desired.

Network edition may be used in multi-user
merge mode when volunteers are working from home.

Network edition has all standard V3
features, allows up to 9,999 bidders & 9,999 items, and allows merge &
network connectivity.

A WIRED network is strongly recommended.

All editions
include one year of technical support for you and your team, including Pager
service for day/evening of event.
What if our event grows more than we
expected?
All data storage formats are identical,
so upgrading between editions is graceful and quick. We can enable
additional features by providing new license keys over the phone or
email, retaining data you've already entered.
