Tickets & Reservations Improvements
That was then...
When V3 was first released, Auction!
permitted only one ticket type purchase for a guest. If a
guest wanted to purchase one regular ticket, and had a
complementary ticket as well, you created a group ticket type,
such as a "Teacher Two for One" group. This wasn't
difficult, but each unique combination of ticket purchases
required its own group ticket type. For events with
adult, child, complementary and multiple sponsorship levels, it
could be a bit tedious.
In addition, if you corrected a
purchase by voiding it and repurchasing, the voided records
showed on invoices. These constraints were necessary
because the vast majority of our clients have multi-user or
network edition, and needed to retain ticket integrity when
merging.
We heard our customers loud & clear!
Auction! now facilitates
purchases of multiple ticket types by an individual guest.
You can go back and revise ticket purchases as needed. We
do some interesting things behind the scenes to make this work
when merging datasets, but the important point is that you now
have the flexibility you need!
This is now...
- Invoices now HIDE voided records
by default. If you want voided records to be visible,
select Documents, Bidder Invoices, Invoice Format,
and check the box Include Voids on Documents.
- When you purchase more than one ticket
type, Auction! automatically voids any prior
purchase, and automatically create a combined ticket type
that matches your selection. You can see these on the
View, Transactions grid. This assures that
Auction! can continue to maintain ticket integrity
during merges.
- When ticket purchases are displayed in
reports & invoices, Auction! will show the
individual ticket purchases separately, so it's clear and
easy to understand.
