Activities, Winning Bids:  Clients prompted regarding refresh of display after winning bid entry in network mode felt the need to do this step that took several seconds, despite default action set to "no."  Removed prompt to refresh data display when closing winning bid screen in network mode; option is still available on File Menu.

Documents, Name Tags:  Separate name tags were printed for couples' names when separated by "and" or "&".  Now also handles "AND" or other cases.

File, Recent Projects List:  When updating to 3.1.5163, the Recently Used File list data was stored in the registry's "currentuser" location instead of "localmachine."  Newly opened projects were not displayed for user convenience.  Fixed.

Reservations, Add Guest:  After adding a guest to a reservation, the Add Guest button remained enabled.  If it was clicked without highlighting another guest name, a runtime error resulted.  Fixed.
Reservations, Add Guest:  Enabled prior to completing ticket purchase.  Ticket purchase must be saved now prior to adding guests.

Reservations, List of available guests:  Earlier changes sped up screen display loading, but could occasionally add apparent duplicates when reopening names or updating totals for a donor.  Fixed.

View, Auction Total Proceeds:  Pledge bids show specific bids, associated item number shows blank rather than zero.  Item & bids can be viewed together by sorting on item number. 

File, Open Project:  Name loading speed improved, by removing unnecessary check for name on guest list.

Report, Reservations:  Error occurred when more than one purchaser of a ticket has only company (and not last name).  Error occurred when reporting two individuals with the same names, but different companies, as company was not included in unique ID.  Both fixed.

Activities, Assign Tables:  When one or more names in a specific table are highlighted, clicking "remove all" (<<) caused a crash.  Fixed.

File, Import:  When importing items and donor names, in certain cases an item without a donor received the prior donor's name by mistake.  Fixed.

New!  Reservations Enhancement:  Guests may now purchase multiple ticket types, or adjust quantities for each type purchased.  A "combined" ticket will be created behind the scenes.  Updated Reports, Invoices and Status windows to reflect ticket capability

New!  Invoice Enhancement:  Voids now "hidden" from Invoices by default.  May be shown if desired, by selecting the option on Invoice Format.

Minor Changes and Enhancements, and Bug Fixes:

Documents, Bidder Invoices:  Print Next 10 and Print Preview Next 10 now correctly enable & disable buttons when done, and names now display correctly when manual selection is done.

Documents, Gift Certificates:  Margin Ranges expanded for Portrait Style certificates, improved handling of switch from Landscape to Portrait and vice-versa.

Reports, Bidder Names:  Now includes name of bidders for Tickets or Payments for a guest without a bid number, when sorting report by bid number.

In Development:

Activities, Winning Bids:  Mistaken entry of five digit item number and tabbing to bidder number results in run-time error/crash.  Have researched, attempted various remedies, per Microsoft KB Q242347, without success.

Sequencing of Items:  Release 3.1.5142 introduced a significant error into item sequencing, forcing them to sort by the order in which they were originally entered instead of the selected sequence.  Fixed.

Reports, Reservations:  When sorting by ticket type, some names were excluded.  Fixed.

File, Import:  When Excel spreadsheet import data source has cells that are unreadable (invalid cross-reference), Auction! now reports a minor error, substitutes a blank for the data, and continues importing, rather than quitting due to the error.

New!  File, New Project, Project Data to Transfer:  Added explicit options to select invitees, retain Payment on File flag or not.  Screen layout adjusted to accommodate new choices.  Invitees now have additional selection of All or Attendees Only.  Attendees are defined as names with a ticket purchase or number attending > 0 (whether or not the invitee flag is checked).  Retain attendance details is now independent of name type.  Donor inclusion options disabled when donors are not selected.

Print Preview, all Documents & Reports:  Checkbox added to optionally select kerning adjustment.  Not needed in most cases.  Prior release had kerning adjustment “on” all the time, which caused vertical positioning problems for text, particularly in catalogs.

Activities, Reservations:  Guests can select a host who has not yet purchased a ticket.  If host name record is deleted, host name for those guests is now cleared, rather than remaining tied to “phantom” host.

Activities, Sequence Items, Automatic:  moving a group of LIVE items (category or range) sometimes went into an infinite loop, with no items actually being moved.  Fixed

Activities, Winning Bids:  Now checks minimum bid on pledges.
Activities, Winning Bids, Edit:  Fixed a RT91 that occurred if you tried to edit a winning bid whose bidder no longer exists.  

Auctionpay, Clear Auctionpay Indicators:  Cursor returns to pointer instead of remaining an hourglass when task is done.

Basket Components, Item Entry:  When a user opened a silent or live item, clicked Convert to Basket Container, changed their mind, cancelled, then converted item to Basket Component, the item would be classified as both Basket Component and a Container, resulting in apparent hanging of the database.  This could also occur on cash items.  Fixed.

Basket Components, Item Entry:  When basket container flag is  set incorrectly (as above,) Transfer to a New Project will correct any existing items.

Documents, Bidder Invoices, Invoice Format:  Boldface format setting for items and payments on invoices was being ignored - fixed.

Documents, Bidder Invoices:  Changed Print to Print Selected.
Documents, Bidder Invoices:  Sales tax no longer charged on voided transactions.

File, Export Transactions:  now enabled in Small Event edition.
File, Export Names:  When exporting donor names with items donated and total of item sale prices, value or items were shown doubled.  Fixed.

File, Merge Project:  When inbound data is corrupt, merge will now fail gracefully.
File, Merge Project:  Invalid transactions could multiply during a merge.  Fixed.

File, Move Project or Restore from Backup, Create New Folder:  When attempting to create a folder on a root, Auction! created the folder, but did not switch to it.  Fixed

File, New Project, Transfer Donors:  Donors “with donations” was based on total donation value, rather than donated item existence, which excluded donors who’d given “priceless” items.  Fixed.

Print Preview:  when previewing Mailing Labels or Name Tags, Item Details Report, right-click to Invoices or Donor Receipt, Bid Sheets, Name Details or Gift Certificates, in Network edition, the database was left “open” causing validation errors for others who opened the dataset at the same time.  Fixed.

New!  Settings, Event Preferences, Sales Tax:  Option now available to charge sales tax on lower of donor value or purchase price, or strictly on purchase price.

Documents, Bid Sheets, Category justification:  When there is room for the
category on the same line as the donor, it is right-justified.  Otherwise
it is left-justified on the next line. If the donor name wraps, and the
category would fit on the second line, it still goes on the next line left
justified. This is how minimum raise works with item value; the item value is rarely that long, so it only wraps on narrow bid sheets.
Documents, Catalog:  When catalog style name already exists in Word normal.dot template, Auction! now adds "_1" to style name to prevent conflict and MSWord 5173 error. 
Documents, Item Details:  Runover lengthy results caused many subsequent misprinted pages.  Fixed.

File, Export, Item Data:  When all fields selected, donor additional first name now consistently exports with other fields.

Help, Check for Updates:  Auction! now checks for updates as needed until reaching the current version, then checks for updates weekly.

Name Entry:  When users closed an item entry with the X button, then edited a name, an RT91 error occurred.  Fixed.
Name Entry:  users could create two names that appear the same to the program, by entering one as "Company; Last Name, First Name" in the Company field, and by entering an identical  "Company", "Last Name" and "First Name" into the specific fields.  Caused RT457 on donor & bidder reports.  Fixed by adding a blank to the subsequent key to handle this.
Name Entry:  Saving or deleting a name will now cause the list of potential guests in Reservations to be updated (add names if they meet the current display criteria, remove them if they are on the list)
Name Entry:  occasional donor entries had Donor checkbox disabled and unchecked, and lacked "D" indicator on grid view.  File, Refresh Project Database now fixes this display.

Reports, Donor Names:  When last name printed has a donation, and no anonymous items follow, the line that should read "No Donor specified" showed a repeat of the last donor's last item.  Fixed.

Report & Document Printing:  In a very few cases, fonts not "kerned" correctly on print Preview or output.  Fixed by vendor update.

View, Donation Total and View, Total Proceeds:  RT 13 occurred when package master indicator was blank (faulty record) instead of zero.  Fixed.

Void Transactions:  Added Hint button.

Auction! startup Run Time Error 9:  Continued enhancement of handling missing or unusual internet connection responses.

Auction! startup Run Time Error 9:  Certain proxy settings on networks/firewalls could cause Auction! to have runs time error 9, "Subscript out of Range" during check for updates.  Some conditions fixed.

Documents, Catalog, Print to Word:  Now prints correctly in older Word editions 2000 and 97.  (broken in 3.1.5121)
